Rajasthan Governor Haribhau Bagde urges compulsory assessments of teachers.

Kota: Addressing the importance of educational standards Thursday, Governor Haribhau Bagde urged for mandatory teacher evaluations every five years during the inauguration of the national workshop “Healthy and Educated Woman: Empowered Nation” at the State Institute of Agriculture Management. Bagde emphasised that the intellectual development of children relies significantly on their environment and education, asserting the responsibility of educational institutions in this regard.Speaking to an audience of nearly 300 participants, including scientists and educators, Bagde dismissed concerns about the job security of teachers, stating that evaluations would not affect their employment or pensions. He also called for a commitment to make Rajasthan drug-free and India tuberculosis-free, while advocating for comprehensive action against fake or “dummy schools” that allow students to circumvent attendance requirements.Highlighting the significance of educating underprivileged girls, Dr Atul Kothari from Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas emphasised that moral values and health are integral to national progress. Dr Vimla Dunkwal, Vice-Chancellor of Agriculture University, echoed this sentiment, stating that empowering women is vital for national strength.
