Jaipur: In a public rebuke to former Congress MP Mahenderjeet Singh Malviya, who recently returned to the party after joining the BJP, state Congress chief Govind Singh Dotasra said the move was a political mistake.Speaking to reporters with Malviya by his side, Dotasra also asserted the former MP returned to Congress with his recommendation.“Many people wanted him to win from the BJP side, but we took it as a challenge and defeated him. By defeating him, we reduced Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s seat tally,” Dotasra said.He said Malviya, despite being a senior leader and a former member of the Congress Working Committee, was now standing behind him because of his political ‘mistake’.Asserting Malviya was “nothing without Congress”, Dotasra said he will stop working with Malviya “the day he works against the party”. “My position is clear, whether it is Sachin Pilot, Ashok Gehlot, or anyone else,” he said.In a sarcastic remark, Dotasra said Malviya was free to switch parties again if he still had any doubts.
