Jaipur: Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Friday assured the Prime Minister’s Office that Rajasthan has adequate LPG and fuel supplies, even as the Centre pledged full support to states amid concerns over potential disruptions due to escalating tensions in West Asia. The assurance came during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s virtual meeting with chief ministers to review preparedness for possible shortages linked to the situation involving the United States, Israel and Iran. “The state has adequate availability of LPG and fuel at present. We are maintaining strict vigilance to ensure smooth supply and to curb any instances of black marketing,” Sharma said, according to official sources. He informed the Prime Minister that district administrations have been put on alert to closely monitor distribution and respond swiftly to any localised shortages. Rajasthan has over 1.7 crore domestic LPG connections, including a large number of beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, making uninterrupted supply a priority. Officials said the state is in constant coordination with oil marketing companies and district authorities to manage supply logistics and address fluctuations in demand. During the meeting, the Prime Minister assured states of full cooperation from the Centre. “The Centre will extend all necessary support to ensure uninterrupted supply of essential fuels and maintain stability in the system,” he said, while stressing the need for close coordination, proactive monitoring and effective communication to prevent panic buying.
