Jaipur: Rajasthan achieved 3,000 megawatts of installed capacity under the PM-KUSUM scheme (Components A and C), chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma said Friday.“The state achieved 3,000MW capacity under PM-KUSUM Components A and C,” Sharma said, adding that the capacity was created under the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led scheme.

He said the implementation of the scheme enabled farmers to participate in solar energy generation. “With PM-KUSUM, farmers are not only food producers but are also contributing as energy producers, and the state is moving towards greater self-reliance in the energy sector,” the Chief Minister said. Sharma congratulated farmers, officials of the energy department, and personnel of Rajasthan’s DISCOMs, stating, “The collective efforts of farmers and energy sector personnel helped Rajasthan emerge as one of the leading states in the country in implementing PM-KUSUM Components A and C.” Referring to power supply in rural areas, he said, “Due to sustained efforts by the state govt, farmers in 22 districts are now receiving electricity during daytime, which eased agricultural operations.” He also noted that subsidies are being provided for the installation of solar pump sets under PM-KUSUM Component B. “The objective is to promote the use of renewable energy in agriculture and support farmers through cleaner energy options,” Sharma said.
