Shimla: The weather department has issued an alert for light to moderate rainfall in the low and mid hills, and light snowfall in the high hills of Himachal Pradesh on April 7 and 8.According to the Meteorological Centre, Shimla, the weather in the state will change under the influence of two active western disturbances in quick succession.Light to moderate rainfall and snowfall are expected over most parts of the high hills and the adjoining mid hills on April 7 and 8, and at a few places on April 9.According to the forecast, light to moderate rainfall with one or two intense spells is very likely over most parts of the low hills in the state during these two days, and at a few places on April 9.Most of the tourist destinations, including Manali, Shimla, Kufri, Narkanda, Solang Valley and Sissu, are likely to receive rainfall and snowfall on April 7 and 8, stated the forecast.The Meteorological Centre, Shimla, has also issued an orange alert for hailstorms over Kangra, Kullu, Mandi, Solan and Shimla on April 7 and 8, and over Chamba district on April 7.The weather department has issued a yellow alert for heavy rainfall and snowfall at isolated places over Shimla, Sirmaur, Mandi and Solan on April 8.There is also a possibility of thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds in Chamba, Kangra, Kullu, Sirmaur, Shimla, Solan, Mandi, Una, Bilaspur and Hamirpur on April 7 and 8.Meanwhile, some parts of the state recorded light snowfall on Monday.MSID:: 130062428 413 |
