Hisar: A 57-year-old man was found dead with his throat slit in Hansi’s Masudpur village on Monday morning. The deceased’s younger brother Surajmal — named accused in the case — is at large. According to police, deceased Shamsher Singh was found lying dead on a cot at his house around 7 am. On receiving information, police teams, along with deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Ravinder Sangwan reached the spot and conducted a preliminary inquiry. A forensic team also collected evidence from the scene.Initial investigation suggests that the murder is linked to a property dispute between the two brothers. Locals said Shamsher, who was unmarried, earlier transferred his agricultural land in Surajmal’s name, which was later sold. Tensions reportedly escalated after Surajmal attempted to sell his house, a move opposed by Shamsher and other family members. Police suspect that the dispute over property led to the crime. A bloodstained stick was recovered from the spot, which is suspected to have been used in the murder. While interacting with local mediapersons, DSP Sangwan said a CIA team has been constituted to arrest the accused. Statements of family members are being recorded, and further investigation is underway, he added.MSID:: 130063209 413 |
