Nagpur: Two young men lost their lives, and another was injured in a head-on collision between two-wheelers in Dabha on Wednesday night, as sudden rain lashed the city, drastically reducing visibility and turning roads extremely slippery. Power outages also hit many areas further reducing visibility. The deceased were identified as Veeru Chaudhary (24), of Ganesh Nagar, Dabha, and Sumit Raut (19), a resident of Hazaripahad. Manish Chavan (20), also from Ganesh Nagar, sustained injuries in the accident. According to police, the incident occurred in front of a school in Dabha. Chaudhary and Chavan were riding one motorcycle when Raut approached from the opposite direction on another two-wheeler. The vehicles collided amid poor visibility caused by rain. The showers made applying brakes difficult on the wet roads, contributing to the fatal crash, cops said. All three victims were rushed to a nearby hospital by a police team. Doctors declared Chaudhary and Chavan dead on arrival, while Raut is undergoing treatment for his injuries. Gittikhadaan police registered a case of fatal accident and launched a detailed investigation.
