Relative humidity remained high, ranging from 62% to 91%, contributing to muggy conditions despite the rain.The IMD has forecast partly cloudy skies with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers during the day. A warning for thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and strong surface winds has also been issued.Weather officials said monsoon activity is expected to intensify between July 20 and July 23. During this period, Chandigarh is likely to witness generally cloudy skies with frequent spells of rain and thundershowers.Day temperatures are expected to fall further, ranging between 30 degrees Celsius and 35 degrees Celsius, while minimum temperatures may settle around 24 degrees Celsius to 25 degrees Celsius.The active monsoon spell is likely to bring widespread rainfall across the region. While this will provide relief from the recent heat, authorities have cautioned about possible waterlogging, traffic congestion, and reduced visibility during heavy showers.Residents can expect a shift from hot, humid conditions to cooler but wetter days as the monsoon strengthens in the coming week.The weather department has predicted a significant increase in monsoon activity from July 20 to July 23.
