Vadodara: Residents of Kalol town in Panchmahal district spent two anxious days indoors and on the streets after a rabid dog went on a biting spree, attacking more than 43 people across the town.The attacks unfolded over the weekend, with residents reportedly bitten at different locations while going about their daily routine. The situation turned particularly tense on Sunday as the dog continued attacking people, leaving residents wary of venturing out.As reports of dog bites poured in, civic authorities launched an urgent operation to track and capture the animal. Two teams were formed to trace the dog, which had been moving through different parts of the town and attacking people.At least 18 of the victims were taken to the Godhra referral clinic, where they were administered anti-rabies injections.The repeated attacks triggered concern among residents, with people alerting one another about the dog and avoiding areas where it had been spotted.After an intensive search, the teams finally managed to catch the dog. Authorities subsequently put down the animal, bringing an end to the two-day scare.
