Anticipation is building around ‘Raaka’, one of Indian cinema’s most eagerly awaited upcoming projects, helmed by director Atlee. Lead actor Allu Arjun has spent the past several months deep in production, bringing this ambitious sci-fi action entertainer to life.
Allu Arjun wraps key Mumbai schedule
As per a report by 123Telugu, the Raaka team has wrapped up a significant shooting schedule in Mumbai, during which Allu filmed several important scenes tied to his character alongside a core group of supporting actors.
Deepika Padukone, Rashmika and others’ roles in ‘Raaka’
Notably, Deepika Padukone is set to portray a pregnant woman from the Puranic Vedic era, and reports suggest she has already finished shooting her portions. Rashmika Mandanna, meanwhile, is said to play a protector figure for Deepika’s character, playing a key role in her survival. Janhvi Kapoor is reportedly taking on the role of a tribal girl, while Aishwarya Lekshmi’s character is said to carry morally grey undertones. The film is rumored to span three separate timelines and is expected to feature wild beasts, newly imagined creatures, and various other species.
Massive set for Allu Arjun’s action sequences
Reports also indicate that a massive set is currently being constructed at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad, in preparation for a shooting schedule set for September. During this phase, the team is expected to film the interval block, which will showcase Arjun in a series of elaborate action sequences.
‘Raaka’ cast and music details
The film will also reportedly starred Mrunal Thakur, Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, and Jim Sarbh, all said to be playing important characters, while Vijay Sethupathi’s name has also been floated as part of the ensemble, pending official word from the makers. Rumours about a Shah Rukh Khan cameo continue to circulate as well, with no confirmation so far. Handling the music for the project is composer Sai Abhyankkar.
