In a spirited effort to champion river conservation, Madhubani organized an enlightening Ganga River quiz as part of the Swachhta Pakhwada initiative. After 12 challenging rounds, UM Vidyalaya emerged victorious, showcasing the students’ commitment to environmental protection. Officials stressed the importance of collective responsibility in maintaining the vitality of our rivers, inspiring young minds to take charge of ecological preservation.

Madhubani: A quiz competition on the Ganga River, its tributaries, cleanliness and environmental conservation was organised for school students in Madhubani on Thursday as part of the Swachhta Pakhwada fortnight.The event was conducted by the district Ganga committee under the Namami Gange programme. Students from various govt and private schools participated in the 12-round competition, showing keen interest in topics related to river conservation, sanitation and water protection.The team from UM Vidyalaya, Bhachhi (Rahika) secured the first position, while Regional Secondary School, Madhubani, finished second. Pole Star School secured the third position. Winners received medals and certificates, while all participants were given certificates.Smit Prateek, district coordinator of ICDS, said, “The cleanliness of the Ganga and other rivers is not only the government’s responsibility but requires the participation of every individual in society.”District project officer of Namami Gange Anand Ankit said the initiative aimed to create awareness among students about protecting rivers and water resources.
