Varanasi: Vice-chancellor of Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University, Jaunpur, prof Vandana Singh was honoured with the prestigious ‘Maati Samman’ for her contribution in the Purvanchal region. The honour was conferred by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Tuesday at Gandhi Darshan Parisar, Rajghat New Delhi, on the occasion of Purvanchal Mahotsav Maati-9 programme. This event was organised by ‘Maati’ Sanstha and Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti, ministry of culture.Teachers and employees of the university congratulated the VC at a felicitation ceremony. tnn
