Varanasi: Demanding removal of the college principal and action against him for the Mar 20 incident in which student Surya Pratap Singh was killed on the university campus, a group of students of Udai Pratap College got their heads tonsured and staged a sit-in, on Wednesday.As the college reopened amid tight security arrangements on Wednesday a group of students staged a sit-in and reiterated their demand for action against him, besides probe into role of the college administration and lodging FIR against them in the student murder case. They demanded capital punishment for main accused.On Mar 20, BSc fourth-semester student Surya Pratap Singh was shot dead on the college campus. Main accused in the case, Manjeet Chauhan, was arrested the same day, while other accused Anuj Maurya surrendered before the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate on Monday. Students have continued to protest, in view of which, heavy police force remained deployed on college campus, where ADCP Varuna Zone Neetu Katyayan and other senior officials kept vigil on the situation. tnn
