Pune: Rain activity remained subdued across Pune city in the 24 hours ending 8.30am on Saturday, with Shivajinagar recording just 0.8mm of rainfall. Most parts of the city received trace to light showers, while rainfall was comparatively higher in some ghat areas.According to rainfall data for 8.30am on Friday to 8.30am on Saturday, Kurvande recorded the highest rainfall in the Pune region at 30mm. Malin received 3mm, followed by Talegaon at 2.5mm. NDA recorded 2mm, while Chinchwad and Girivan received 1.5mm each. Nimgiri, Pashan and Ballalwadi recorded 1mm each. Hadapsar received 0.5mm and Baramati 0.6mm.India Meteorological Department’s local forecast indicated that Pune and neighbouring areas are likely to remain generally cloudy, with very light to light rain possible over the coming days.Temperatures are also likely to rise gradually, with the maximum temperature in Pune forecast to touch 30°C by Aug 11, compared with 28°C on Saturday. Chinchwad could see the maximum rise to 31°C, while minimum temperatures are expected to remain around 22-23°C in the city.Rainfall in the ghats remained more significant, with Shirgaon receiving 75mm, Ambone 64mm, Dawdi 74mm, Koyna (Navja) 91mm and Tamhini 80mm. Bhira recorded 56mm and Dungerwadi 46mm, during the 24 hours ending Saturday 8.30am.
