Patna: Patna University (PU) on Monday released the second merit list for admission to four-year degree courses under the regular mode for the 2026-27 session at its different colleges.Releasing the cut-off list, PU students’ welfare dean Kameshwar Pandit said counselling and admission for different honours courses would be held from June 30 to July 3. About 1,500 sanctioned seats in undergraduate (UG) courses of the university are up for grabs for the admission aspirants.More than 2,000 sanctioned seats in arts, science and commerce streams in Magadh Mahila College, B N College, Patna College, Vanijya Mahavidyalaya and Patna Science College have already been filled from the candidates figuring in the first merit list. About 1,500 seats are still vacant. However, the second merit list released by the university contains the names of only about 1,100 candidates as no candidate was found against some reserved seats and also in a few honours subjects.“The merit list of candidates has been uploaded on the PU website on Thursday. Candidates will have to download their allotment letter with the help of their application ID and password,” the dean said.Further, after depositing the fee online, candidates would report for admission to the concerned college with the allotment letter, payment slip, printout of the application form and original as well as photocopies of all their certificates and four copies of their passport size photographs from June 30 to July 3. “If a candidate fails to get himself admitted till July 3, his claim for admission will automatically lapse,” he said.The results of entrance tests for admission to the undergraduate courses under the self-financed scheme are also likely to be published in a day or two. Then the schedule for the counseling and admission of successful candidates in self-financed courses would also be announced.The induction meet for newly admitted students of undergraduate courses in different colleges of PU is likely to be held on July 6 and their classes would commence from July 7.
