Patna: Patna University (PU) girls have once again outsmarted boys by securing top positions in 29 out of 38 subjects in the postgraduate examinations (2023-25 session), according to the final list of toppers announced by the university on Saturday.The list of toppers indicated that girls have fared well not only in humanities and social sciences but proved their supremacy in science subjects as well.In the faculty of humanities, the toppers were Nidhi Kumari (Hindi), Priya Singh (English), Upasana Arya (Sanskrit), Khusboo Kumari (Maithili), Hadiqua Khalid (Arabic), Shireen Tasnim (Urdu), Amajeet Kumar (Philosophy), Kundan Kumar (Music) and Shakshi (MJMC).

In the faculty of social sciences, the toppers were Riya (History), Sahil Alam (Political Science), Sneha Kumari (Home Science), Abhishek Kumar (Ancient Indian History and Archaeology), Akanksha Kumari (Sociology), Gyaneshwari Kumari and Afshan Nigar (Economics), Supriya Raj (Psychology), Prakash Chandra (Geography), Mitali Raj (PMIR), Ragini (Rural Studies), Palak Prakash (Social Work), Sakshi (Women’s Studies) and Pallavi Kumari (Library and Information Science).In the faculty of science, the toppers were Suruchi Kumari (Physics), Tripti Anand (Chemistry), Arti Kumari (Zoology), Saquib Ashad (Botany), Vandana Kumari (Geology), Nikita Kumari (Mathematics), Aasiya Amrjish (Statistics), Priya Kumari (Biochemistry), Shrishti Aarya (Biotechnology), Shashi Suman (Environmental Science) and Surbhi Kumari (MCA).Other toppers included Pranjal Kumar (Commerce), Saket Kumar (MBA), Kumari Shakshi (Law) and Vishal Raj (Education).All these toppers will be awarded gold medals at PU’s annual convocation scheduled for Aug 8 at Veronica Auditorium of Patna Women’s College. PU registrar Shalini said 1,305 successful postgraduate candidates will also receive their degrees at the convocation, and 155 scholars will be awarded PhD degrees.—
