Bokaro: The district administration imposed prohibitory orders under orders under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita in Chas Municipal Corporation limits on Saturday evening as the mandatory silence period for the Feb 23 election kicked in.Pranjal Dhanda, Chas subdivisional magistrate, said, “The order directs all outside campaigners who are not registered voters in the municipal area to leave immediately. Public meetings, rallies, and the use of loudspeakers are completely banned during the period.”
Like Chas, prohibitory orders were also enforced in Bermo and Phusro municipal council limits. Deputy commissioner Ajay Nath Jha appealed to candidates, supporters, hotel operators and citizens to strictly adhere to the model code of conduct.
