Lucknow: A 28-year-old private tutor was arrested for allegedly raping a 13-year-old Dalit girl multiple times, blackmailing her, forcing an abortion and issuing death threats, police said on Monday.DCP South, Nipun Agarwal, said the girl, originally from Bijnor, is a Class IX student in a private school and both her parents are in govt service.
Agarwal said the victim’s father, in his complaint on Feb 21, said the accused is a native of Banda and used to teach her daughter at their house. “On Jan 22, when the victim’s parents were at work and her grandmother was sitting outside, the accused allegedly raped the minor. When she resisted, he threatened to ruin her life,” said Agarwal. Police said he continued this till Feb 12 when he came to know that the girl had become pregnant. “The accused allegedly administered medication to induce an abortion. When her health deteriorated, she confided in her mother. The parents then submitted a complaint to the police,” he added. An FIR was registered under sections 74, 65(1), 89, and 351(3) of the BNS, sections 5/6 of the Pocso Act, and sections 3(1)(d), 3(1)(dh), and 3(2)(v) of the SC and ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. The accused has 2 criminal cases registered in Banda, said the DCP.
