Lucknow: The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) on Monday arrested a drug peddler and seized 507 grams of heroin worth Rs. 1.02 crore from his possession. The accused, Rahul Rawat, was apprehended from the Roshanabad Colony in Thakurganj. The ANTF of the Barabanki unit caught him while he was allegedly carrying the contraband for retail distribution.During interrogation, the accused revealed that he procured heroin at a cheaper rate from an unidentified supplier near Kudiya Ghat and sold it in small packets at higher prices across different areas.
A case was registered under sections of the NDPS Act 1985 at Thakurganj police station, and further investigation is underway. TNN
