Lucknow: Inspiring works of late artist Prithvi Nath Bhargava were displayed at a painting exhibition that began at the State Lalit Kala Akademi on Monday. The exhibition will be open for public from 11am to 6pm till Feb 26. Prithvi Nath Bhargava was considered an expert in wash and watercolour paintings.

The exhibition brought together over 114 of Bhargava’s finest works, including wash techniques, delicate watercolours, evocative oils, bold abstracts, and striking contemporary compositions.Art lovers, collectors, and students described the exhibition as “a journey through time and emotion.”Speaking at the inauguration, Bhargava’s son AK Bhargava said, “My father believed that art must breathe with honesty. He used to express his imagination through his artworks.”Veteran artist Umesh Saxena said, “Bhargava’s wash paintings possess a rare luminosity. There is emotion and restraint in his works.”A painting that was highly admired by the visitors was “Fearless Buddha”, featuring Lord Buddha sitting and meditating while a two horned devil trying to disrupt his meditation.State Lalit Kala Akademi chairman Sunil Vishwakarma said, “Every artwork is a masterpiece and youngsters should see and take note of the detailed work.”
