Hyderabad: A college principal in Nagarkurnool district has been booked for allegedly sexually assaulting a former postgraduate student who had approached him for a transfer certificate (TC). The male student reportedly resisted the assault, causing injuries to the accused.According to police, the student, who recently completed a master’s degree, met the principal on Tuesday seeking issuance of a TC. The principal allegedly asked the student to collect the document from his residence later that night.“When the student reached the house of the principal at around 11 pm, the accused allegedly sexually assaulted him. The student retaliated and the accused suffered injuries,” said a police officer.Police said the student managed to leave the place after the accused began screaming in pain. When hostel students gathered near the residence, the accused reportedly fled from the spot.“On the complaint of the student, we have registered a sexual assault case against the principal under relevant sections of the BNS. We shifted him to Hyderabad under police supervision for medical treatment,” police said.
