Varanasi: Ahead of the unscheduled visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a team of officials from Delhi conducted a physical inspection of ongoing projects, including the ropeway and works at Varanasi Junction (Cantt railway station), in his parliamentary constituency on Tuesday.Though the itinerary of the PM’s next visit was not received, the district administration is busy finalising lists of ready projects that will be inaugurated by him as well as new projects for the foundation-laying ceremony. Several officials from Central ministries also reached the city on Monday evening.Following several rounds of meetings with the officers of departments and agencies concerned to know the progress in ongoing projects, the team members started a series of inspections, starting from the ropeway project site. Later, they moved around the circulating area and platforms of Varanasi Junction.Divisional commissioner S Rajalingam, district magistrate Satyendra Kumar and senior officials escorted the team.
