Jaipur: District Consumer Commission, Jaipur-II, Tuesday, issued notices to McDonald’s MD Rajeev Ranjan, brand ambassadors Ranveer Singh and Kartik Aaryan, and restaurant manager Sambhav Bhardwaj over allegations of using harmful cooking oil at the McDonald’s outlet in Gaurav Tower, Jaipur. The commission directed them to file responses by March 23. The order was passed by Chairman Gyarsi Lal Meena on a complaint by Gaurav Tiwari.During a surprise inspection on Feb 9, Rajasthan health department food safety officers allegedly found total polar compounds (TPC) in refined palm oil above the permissible 25% limit. Reportedly, oil for non-vegetarian items showed 28% TPC, while oil for vegetarian items showed 31% TPC.
