Times News NetworkKanpur: Aheadof the commencement of the holy month of Shrawan on July 30,District Magistrate Jitendra Pratap Singh on Tuesday visited the renowned Anandeshwar Mahadev Temple in Parmat to review the arrangements being made for the convenience and safety of devotees.During his visit, Singh conducted an on-site assessment of the facilitiesavailable for pilgrims and reviewed the overall management plan for themonth-long religious observance. He inspected the temple complex, entry andexit routes, and other arrangements expected to handle the heavy influx ofdevotees.The district magistrate also held discussions with the temple priest andofficials from the concerned departments regarding crowd management,cleanliness, security, drinking water, lighting and other essential civicamenities. He directed officials to ensure that all necessary arrangementsare completed before the commencement of the holy month so that devotees donot face any inconvenience.Officials briefed him about the preparations being made to regulate themovement of pilgrims and maintain order inside the temple premises. Thedistrict administration is expecting a large turnout of devotees fromKanpur and adjoining districts throughout the Shrawan month, with thetemple witnessing heavy footfall from early morning till late at night.The Anandeshwar Mahadev Temple, one of Kanpur’s most revered Shiv shrines,attracts thousands of devotees during Shrawan every year. He directed that separate barricading arrangements be made for male andfemale devotees. Large and clear signboards should be installed at keylocations to guide devotees, displaying information regarding entry, exit,medical assistance, drinking water, restrooms, and other essentialfacilities.Singh directed the Municipal Corporation to ensure regular cleaning of thetemple premises and the surrounding area, the provision of an adequatenumber of dustbins, regular garbage collection, and the proper deploymentof sanitation staff. KESCO was instructed to ensure uninterrupted powersupply and adequate lighting arrangements so that devotees would not faceany inconvenience, even at night.The Health Department was directed to set up a temporary health centre nearthe temple premises and ensure the availability of essential medicines,first-aid supplies, and a medical team, so that immediate medicalassistance can be provided to devotees if needed.The police department was directed to ensure robust security arrangements,including surveillance via CCTV cameras at key locations and continuousmonitoring from the control room. Adequate police personnel and volunteersshould be deployed for crowd management, traffic regulation, and security.The District Magistrate directed that barricading and well-organized routesbe established at necessary locations to ensure the safe movement ofKanwariyas and other devotees carrying Ganga water, thereby facilitatingthe smooth conduct of ‘darshan’ and ‘jalabhishek’ rituals.
