Kanpur: Students of Chandrashekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology (CSA) will now get a 50% concession on railway fares while travelling from the university to their homes and back during the semester breaks, the university officials said on Tuesday.Besides this, students will also be entitled to a 50% concession on railway fares during travel undertaken for research work, educational tours and other academic activities.The facility has been reintroduced by the Prayagraj Division for students of the university.Dr Mukesh Shrivastava, the university’s dean of student welfare, said students had been availing the facility until 19 years ago, but it was discontinued for various reasons.He said the new vice-chancellor, Dr Sanjeev Gupta, has reintroduced the concession.Shrivastava added that more than 3,000 students of the university are expected to benefit from the decision.
