Patna: Revenue and land reforms minister Dilip Kumar Jaiswal on Tuesday directed officials to prepare a 15-day action plan to accelerate the ongoing special land survey in Bihar and warned circle-level officials against slow progress.Jaiswal issued the directions while chairing a weekly review meeting with nodal officers from all districts. He said districts and administrative circles showing poor progress should be identified and reviewed separately, with accountability fixed for officials and staff who consistently fail to meet targets. The minister said the special land survey was not merely an exercise in measuring land but a crucial initiative to protect the rights of landowners and prepare accurate and updated land records. He stressed that speed should not come at the cost of accuracy, transparency or quality. He directed officials to prepare and submit Mauza-wise progress reports every Monday. Targets and deadlines should be fixed for all stages, including self-declaration, Khanapuri, mapping, publication of draft records, disposal of claims and objections, and final publication, he said.Jaiswal also ordered the organisation of camps at the mauza level to address landowners’ grievances and ensure the field presence of officials and survey staff.Department secretary Jai Singh reviewed district-wise progress and directed officials to prepare officer-wise lists of pending claims and objections, giving priority to older cases. He called for immediate resolution of technical issues and regular dashboard-based monitoring. The dashboard, he said, should clearly show targets, achievements, pending cases and reasons for delays to facilitate timely corrective action. Nodal officers from all districts and assistant director Subodh Kumar attended the meeting.
