Mangaluru: Health minister UT Khader Saturday said the state govt has launched the prajaseva department with the objective of listening to every citizen’s grievances and providing swift solutions.Speaking after inaugurating the ‘Praja Seva’ campaign programme organised by Dakshina Kannada district administration at Puttur Town Hall, Khader said the govt aims to ensure benefits of every scheme reach every citizen.“The prajaseva department has been created to listen to people’s grievances and provide appropriate solutions. The objective of the ‘Praja Seva’ campaign is to systematically review and dispose of public applications,” the minister said.“There are problems that remain unresolved even after several years. Applications received under Praja Seva must be considered and resolved within the legal framework. Officials must think seriously about solving these problems,” Khader said, urging officials to patiently examine issues and come forward to serve the people.Khader said a separate department has been formed to listen to public problems and grievances. He added that several significant development projects have been implemented in the state over the past three years and that the state govt will seriously examine every application received during the Praja Seva campaign.Puttur MLA Ashok Kumar Rai presided over the event. Deputy commissioner Darshan HV, ZP CEO Narwade Vinayak Karbhari, SP Arun K, Mangaluru DCP (crime and traffic) K Ravi Shankar, Puttur assistant commissioner Stella Varghese, Puttur tahsildar SB Koodalagi, taluk panchayat executive officer Naveen Bhandari and others were present.Flood of grievancesPublic grievances poured in at Puttur Town Hall on the inaugural day of the Praja Seva campaign. Applications were received at department-wise counters.The public placed issues before the district minister, mainly related to revenue department, including land allotment, plotting, title deeds and surveys. Other issues raised included gun licences, bus route sanctions and appointment of teachers to schools.The minister said revenue department is working step by step to plot land and provide Record of Rights, Tenancy and Crops (RTCs). He assured that all issues would be resolved within a timeframe and RTCs issued.The SP said steps are being taken to review gun licence applications as per regulations and provide licences to eligible farmers.A total of 163 applications were received during the programme. Of these, 61 were related to revenue department, 22 to rural development department and 13 to home department.
