Patna: Patliputra University (PPU) will commence the evaluation of answer books for the undergraduate (UG) semester six examinations from May 10 to May 20. The university announced the schedule on Monday, aiming to expedite academic process and position itself as the first university in Bihar to declare results for the inaugural batch of the 2023–27 undergraduate session under National Education Policy (NEP) programme.According to PPU examination controller Manoj Kumar, the university has designated only two centres for this work namely JD Women’s College in Patna and Nalanda College in Nalanda district of the state. He added that the results will be declared by the end of this month .Approximately 5,000 examiners have been shortlisted to evaluate answer books of nearly 90,000 examinees. “The university has maintained that the limited evaluation centres are expected to improve coordination, ensure uniformity in marking, and accelerate result preparation,” Kumar said adding PPU will thus become the only university in Bihar to release results for the first batch under the new academic structure introduced in 2023.Additionally, the university has also announced the schedule for postgraduate (PG) examinations for semester two and four respectively for both regular and vocational courses beginning from Wednesday. These examinations will be conducted across nine centres, he said adding around 12,000 students are expected to appear for these exams which will be held in two sittings daily from 10am to 1pm and from 2pm to 5pm.The university has further confirmed that evaluation of PG answer books will begin from May 20 onwards. Similar to the UG evaluation set up, this process will also be conducted at two designated centres one in Patna and the other in Nalanda district.PPU VC Upendra Prasad Singh said that these measures would reflect the university’s commitment to maintaining an efficient academic calendar and ensuring timely declaration of results which has often been a challenge in higher education institutions across the state.
