A freight train was also detained at Gudgeri after the glitch. Since the Vande Bharat halted at the level crossing, road traffic was blocked for about 45 minutes, forcing road users, including school and college students, to wait until clearance.Sources in SWR said the train departed from Bengaluru city at 5.49am with a four-minute delay and was running eight minutes late until Haveri. “Due to technical glitches, it reached Hubballi with a 56-minute delay and reached its destination, Dharwad, at 12.23pm with a delay of 23 minutes. However, it restarted from Dharwad at its scheduled time of 1.30pm,” they added.
