Following the announcement of the election timetable, the Model Code of Conduct comes into immediate effect in Keralam, West Bengal, Assam, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.

The Election Commission of India on Sunday announced the schedule for the upcoming Assembly elections in Keralam, West Bengal, Assam, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.  The election schedule was revealed during a press briefing held in New Delhi, where officials outlined the key dates and the phased polling plan. With the announcement now made, the electoral process in the state formally begins.

Key Dates In The Election Schedule

According to the commission, the election process will follow the standard sequence of notifications, nominations and scrutiny before voters head to the polling stations.

Assam: Polling on 9 April

Kerala: Polling on 9 April

Tamil Nadu: Polling on 23 April

West Bengal: Polling on 23 April (Phase 1) and 29 April (Phase 2)

Puducherry: Polling on 9 April

Votes from all constituencies will be counted on May 4, after which the final results of the Assembly elections will be declared.
