Noida: Police are looking at the possibility of people beyond the arrested members of workers’ group Mazdoor Bigul Dasta being involved in inciting violence during the April 13 industrial labour protest in the city.According to officers involved in the probe, those involved in instigating the violence aimed to disrupt industrial production in Noida for several weeks, forcing companies to halt operations and create pressure on govt to hike wages.A senior officer said there are several key questions that emerged during the probe, one of which is how so many members were added to the main WhatsApp groups used to mobilise the protests in such quick time. “How did the organisers manage to get so many phone numbers? There were around 800 members in each group. Another point of inquiry is why, despite workers agreeing to revised salary terms on April 10 and 11, certain individuals incited them again near metro stations. We have videos of the speeches,” the officer said.
