Chennai: The Chennai city police destroyed 2,449.37 kg of ganja seized in 784 narcotics cases, as part of its continued drive against drug trafficking. The seized ganja was incinerated at the GJ Multiclave India Private Limited at Thenmelpakkam in Chengalpet district on Thursday, in compliance of court orders.The disposal operation was conducted under the direction of Chennai city commissioner of police A Amalraj under the supervision of the Drug Disposal Committee (DDC), which oversees the scientific disposal of seized narcotics, synthetic drugs and psychotropic substances after obtaining judicial approval.
