Mumbai: Claiming to have cracked a blind murder case that started with the discovery of a decomposed woman at an isolated spot in the jurisdiction of Mandvi police station on March 21, Mira Bhayandar Vasai Virar Crime Branch Unit-3 have arrested her husband and his friend. With no immediate leads, police registered a case of murder and destruction of evidence and formed multiple teams to identify the deceased, whose throat was slit and head smashed with a heavy object, and track down the accused. After scanning over 500 CCTV cameras for nearly three days, a brief flicker of vehicle lights captured in one footage helped police narrow down suspects. Using technical analysis, they zeroed in on lift technician Roshan Yadav and his friend Bhanupratap Yadav and detained them.During questioning, Roshan allegedly confessed to having murdered his wife, Madhubala, with Bhanupratap’s help on March 19 at a secluded location.Police said the couple had a love marriage in 2016. While Roshan lived in Vasai for work, Madhubala lived in their hometown in Uttar Pradesh. Police said Roshan suspected her of having an extramarital affair, leading to frequent disputes. He allegedly called her to Vasai on March 15 and killed her four days later.
