T’puram: A Kollam fast-track special court on Saturday sentenced a 27-year-old man to 75 years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 4,10,000 for sexually assaulting his 11-year-old male relative.The accused, a native of Paravoor, Kollam, was convicted of subjecting the minor to unnatural acts and sexual assault. The incident took place on the final day Pozhikkara Temple festival, when the accused took the child to a beach behind the temple premises and sexually assaulted him. The court directed that Rs 2 lakh from the collected fine be awarded as compensation to the survivor. Special public prosecutor Saritha R appeared for the prosecution.
