Bengaluru: A 49-year-old physical education teacher, who was accused in a Pocso case, allegedly jumped from the third floor of the Bengaluru South district superintendent of police (SP) office Sunday afternoon.The deceased is Shashidhar from , a native of Vijayanagar. He had been working at an aided high school in Channapatna taluk for the past 15 years.A Pocso case had been registered against Shashidhar following allegations of sexual abuse of five minor girls studying in the school. An FIR was registered at Ramanagara women’s police station Saturday, while police had arrested him the same evening.Police on Sunday morning brought him to the Measurement Collection Unit (MCU), located in the Bengaluru South district SP office, after a medical examination to register his fingerprints.Jumps From Third FloorAfter completion of the procedures, police were taking him downstairs from the third floor when he suddenly jumped from the building around 12 pm. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, but doctors declared him brought dead.Shashidhar’s family members alleged that baseless allegations had been levelled against him and alleged that he had been subjected to severe mental pressure by the police and school management, which drove him to take the extreme step.
