Patna: Residents of Darbhanga town can now receive piped natural gas (PNG) directly in their homes, with the facility being launched in the town on Thursday under Centre’s Urja Ganga Yojana.Bihar BJP president SanjaySaraogi inaugurated the service along with MP GopalJeeThakur and Bihar Legislative Council member HariSahni. The scheme aims to provide households with a continuous supply of natural gas through pipelines, reducing dependence on LPG cylinders.Describing the launch as a major step forward for the town, Saraogi said the facility would make cooking more convenient by eliminating the need for frequent cylinder replacement.“Gas will now reach kitchens directly through pipelines,” he said, adding that the service would spare families the inconvenience associated with LPG cylinders.He termed the rollout another step towards improving household convenience and strengthening energy infrastructure under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.According to Saraogi, the expansion of PNG infrastructure is expected to boost Darbhanga’s development and improve access to cleaner fuel.During the programme, Saraogi interacted with consumers who have been connected to the PNG network and sought feedback on the quality of supply and service delivery. He also directed officials to expedite the expansion of the network and ensure efficient consumer services.Among those present were NileshNagwade, head of the BPCL Darbhanga City Gas Distribution Project, ward councillor VikasKumar, and other BJP functionaries and officials.
