According to him, Bangladeshi nationals often cross into India through the porous borders in West Bengal and Assam, seeking livelihood in construction, textiles and other informal sectors. “Over time, many move to southern states, including Tamil Nadu, where industrial clusters provide employment opportunities. However, without valid permits, they remain vulnerable to detention and deportation,” he said.Police sources said the detainees were moved to a special camp in Trichy, which houses foreign nationals awaiting repatriation.
