Mumbai: A 52-year-old pedestrian lost his life after a two-wheeler hit him while he was crossing the road at Kandivli West. Charkop Police registered an FIR against the motorcyclist.The victim, Pir Mohammad Hasan Shaikh, lived with his wife, sons and their family at Kharodi in Malad. On May 13, around 10.45 pm, his younger son, Saukat Shaikh, received a call from Pir Mohammad’s phone. The caller was not known to the family. He said Pir Mohammad suffered injuries in a road crash and was rushed to the Babasaheb Ambedkar Hospital at Kandivli.Saukat’s older brother, Imtiaz, and their sister, Rehana, rushed to the hospital and dialled their father’s mobile number once again. A person who answered the phone asked them to come to the casualty department. Pir Mohammad was pronounced dead by doctors.The family learnt that Pir Mohammad was crossing the road near Kandivli Industrial Estate at Ganesh Nagar when a two-wheeler hit him. The motorcyclist, Bharat Nangre, and his friend, seated pillion, Rahul Yadav, brought Pir Mohammad to the hospital.
