Patna: The Patna high court administration on Tuesday decided to establish three fast-track courts (FTCs) to ensure speedy trials in cases related to offences committed during public examinations.The FTCs will be set up in Patna, Lakhisarai and Purnia districts to exclusively hear cases involving paper leaks, impersonation, cheating and other unfair means in public examinations across Bihar.The special courts will deal with cases registered under the Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024. The trials are expected to be concluded within three months from the date of filing of the chargesheet by police in such cases.Each court will be presided over by a judicial officer of the rank of District and Additional Sessions Judge. Gaurav Singh, Seema Bharatiya and Thakur Aman Kumar have been designated to preside over the FTCs in Patna, Lakhisarai and Purnia, respectively.The Patna high court administration has requested the Bihar govt to issue necessary notification for establishing the three special courts and appointing the designated judicial officers at the earliest.
