Patna: The Patna high court on Monday rejected the regular bail plea of former RJD legislator Ritlal Yadav in an extortion case registered at Khagaul police station in April 2025. Justice Ashok Kumar Pandey rejected the criminal miscellaneous application.The FIR accuses Ritlal, his brother Pintu Yadav and others of threatening partners of a construction company and extorting Rs 10 lakh, besides demanding Rs 50 lakh.Senior counsel Nivedita Nirvikar argued the prosecution case was doubtful as the FIR was lodged in 2025 over alleged incidents of 2023 and 2024.Opposing bail, advocate general Satya Darshi Sanjay said Ritlal faces 38 criminal cases and witnesses could be threatened or influenced if he is released.
