Patna: Police have finalised elaborate security and traffic arrangements for the smooth, safe and peaceful conduct of the NEET re-examination scheduled to be held on Sunday from 2pm to 5.15pm. To ensure that candidates reach their examination centres without difficulty and to maintain law and order, magistrates and police officers have been deployed across the city, particularly at examination venues, where the reporting time is 12.30pm.Special attention has been paid to the Bapu Examination Centre in Kumhrar and its surrounding areas, where a large number of candidates are expected to appear for the examination. To prevent congestion and ensure uninterrupted traffic flow, restrictions have been imposed on the movement of commercial and heavy vehicles. Necessary parking arrangements have also been made for candidates and visitors.According to the special traffic plan, all autorickshaws and e-rickshaws coming from Dhanki Mor towards Patna City will be diverted through Zero Mile, New Bypass and Bhootnath Road before reaching the Old Bypass. Heavy vehicles, including buses, pickup vans and goods carriers arriving from Dhanki Mor, will be directed towards their destinations through the New Bypass and Mithapur Road. Similarly, heavy and cargo vehicles coming from Karbigahiya will be routed via Mithapur New Bypass.Traffic restrictions have also been imposed in the Moin-ul-Haq Stadium and Bahadurpur areas. Buses and goods vehicles coming from the stadium side will not be allowed to move towards Bahadurpur Road Over Bridge (ROB). Instead, they will be diverted through Vaishali Golambar, Rajendra Nagar Bridge and 90-Feet Road.In another major restriction, heavy vehicles, including buses and pickup trucks, will not be permitted to operate between the GPO area and Chiraiyatand Bridge. Such vehicles will be required to use Mithapur New Bypass as an alternative route.Patna Traffic SP Sagar Kumar has appealed to candidates and their parents to leave for examination centres well in advance and follow the revised traffic arrangements. “Citizens and motorists have also been urged to cooperate with authorities and use designated diversion routes to help maintain smooth traffic movement during the examination,” he said.
