Patna: The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) on Saturday declared the final results of the 70th combined competitive examination. Shraddha Pandey topped the exam with 593 marks, followed by Shashank Gaurav and Ayush Bijoy in second and third place, respectively.BPSC chairman Parmar Ravi Manubhai said this edition had the highest number of vacancies ever notified. Of the 2,035 posts advertised, 2,027 candidates were selected, while eight posts reserved under the disabled quota remained vacant.The selected candidates will be appointed to key state govt posts, including sub-divisional magistrate (SDM), deputy superintendent of police (DSP), tax officer, state tax officer, and other administrative positions.Addressing concerns over delays, Parmar said the scale of the recruitment process was much larger than previous exams. The 68th exam had 324 vacancies with 817 interviewees, while the 69th had 475 vacancies and 1,252 candidates interviewed. In comparison, the 70th exam involved 2,035 vacancies and around 5,450 interviewees, making the process more time-consuming.The recruitment process began with the preliminary exam on Dec 13, 2024, followed by the mains in April 2025. Interviews were held between Jan and April 2026, culminating in the declaration of the final results.
