Bengaluru: Around 15 patients admitted to Aveksha Hospital at Singapura on MS Palya Road in north Bengaluru were shifted soon after staff noticed a fire in the building around 2.30am Wednesday.The blaze broke out in the electric shaft in the basement of the four-storey building. There were around 30 staff members, including an electrician, working at night. They noticed thick smoke spreading to the upper floors and realised there was a fire in the building, police said.The staff immediately started shifting the patients even as some of them panicked and started running out of their rooms to save their lives.After alerting fire and emergency services, some staff members and the electrician went to the basement and tried to douse the flames.Vidyaranyapura police said there were no casualties in the incident and said the cause will be ascertained.
