Chandigarh: Senior leader and Congress MLA Pargat Singh on Wednesday extended support to the students’ protest march in Chandigarh against the implementation of the National Education Policy.The former education minister urged chief minister Bhagwant Mann to reject the National Education Policy and introduce a separate state education policy for Punjab. Pargat Singh said he had been consistently raising this demand in the Punjab assembly.It is unfortunate that the Aam Aadmi Party has been maintaining silence and is effectively following the BJP’s agenda, he added.The senior leader further said the state govt should immediately reject the National Education Policy and take a decision in the interest of Punjab’s students. He emphasised that Punjab needed its own education policy tailored to the needs of its students.
