Jaipur: Parents of students admitted under the Right to Education (RTE) quota at Tree House High School submitted a memorandum on Friday to the district collector and district education officer, seeking immediate help to secure admissions in other schools after the private institution shut down due to financial problems. They said the children were admitted through due process, but the closure has disrupted their schooling. The school took 44 students every year under RTE. With the state’s RTE admission process currently underway, the parents urged the district administration to accommodate the affected students in alternative schools.Through the memorandum, parents demanded that, keeping the future of the affected students in mind, proper alternative admission arrangements be ensured in other schools with immediate effect.“My daughter was selected through the RTE admission process and was studying here for the past four years. Now suddenly the school has shut down. At this point, the refund is not of much importance to me but rather, getting her admitted to another school under RTE. It’s only because of RTE that I have been able to provide good education to her till now,” said Nirma, mother of a student who was just promoted to Class 3 this month.Parents said that the sudden closure of the school has disrupted children’s education and they are confused about the situation.Sanyukt Abhibhavak Sangh, a body of aggrieved parents in the city, said that it is the responsibility of the education department to intervene immediately and safeguard the academic session of the students.”This is an extremely serious matter in which the future of the children has been directly trifled with. The arbitrary conduct of private schools is constantly on the rise, and this episode serves as a prime example of that. The education department must take strict measures to ensure immediate alternative arrangements for the affected students,” said Abhishek Jain, spokesperson of the association.
