Daltonganj: A 25-year-old youth died on the spot and five others were injured when two motorcycles collided head-on at Rani Taal, 14 km from Daltonganj, shortly after 6 pm on Saturday, police said.The deceased was identified as Sujit Kumar of Ramgarh village in Palamu. Rupesh Kumar (24), who suffered head injuries, was referred to Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Ranchi, sources at MMCH Daltonganj said. Four others sustained mild injuries.Chainpur police station officer in charge Lalji said four people, including Sujit, were travelling on one motorcycle from Ramgarh to Chainpur. Rupesh was among two people riding the other motorcycle from Chainpur to Ramgarh.Police described the crash as a serious case of rash and negligent riding by both sides. The accident site was neither congested nor carrying heavy traffic, Lalji said.Police seized both damaged motorcycles and filed a first accident report.
