Ramgarh: The Rajrappa area of Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) on Sunday organised a cleanliness drive at Rajrappa temple, one of Jharkhand’s popular tourist and spiritual destinations, to mark World Tourism Day.Goddess Chhinnamastika temple, located in Rajrappa of Ramgarh district, is being developed by the state tourism department as a major pilgrimage and tourist site.The drive was held under CCL’s Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 campaign. Its objective was to keep tourist places clean and beautiful while promoting awareness and public participation in cleanliness.CCL officials, volunteers and sanitation workers participated in the campaign. More than 25 safai sainiks contributed through shramdaan and cleaned the temple premises and adjoining tourist areas. Suman and volunteers from Seva Foundation also extended active support.CSR Officer of CCL’s Rajrappa area Ashish Jha said, “Rajrappa Temple is not only a major centre of our faith, but it also has a special identity among the important tourist places of Jharkhand. Maintaining cleanliness of such places is our collective responsibility. Through Swachhata Hi Seva 2026, our effort is to make cleanliness not just a campaign but a habit and community responsibility. This cleanliness campaign conducted today on World Tourism Day is an effort of the same spirit.”Jha said clean and beautiful tourist places can be built only with public participation.During the drive, shopkeepers in and around the temple complex were sensitised about cleanliness. They were urged to keep their shops and surrounding areas clean, dispose of garbage at designated places and cooperate in maintaining the sanctity and cleanliness of the tourist site.
