Jhansi: A Roadways bus collided with a truck on the Jhansi-Kanpur highway, while a car coming from behind also crashed on Monday afternoon, leaving over a dozen persons injured, of whom some are said to be critical.The incident took place near Gora Machiya, falling under Baragaon police station. According to the onlookers, the Roadways bus was going towards Kanpur. Suddenly, a truck coming from the opposite direction lost control and jumped the road after crossing the divider and dashed into the bus. A car coming from behind could not manage to apply the brakes and dashed into the bus from behind.The impact was so severe that both the bus and the truck were pushed to the roadside culvert while breaking the roadside barrier. There was hue and cry all over. Police arrived and sent the 13 critically injured persons to Jhansi medical college for treatment, while other passengers with minor injuries were sent to the nearby CHC. A crane had to be called, which pulled up the mangled bodies of the vehicles. SO Baragaon police station Rajesh Kumar Dubey said the driver of the truck lost control and crossed the lane, which led to the accident.
