Alwar: After an explosion at an illegal firecracker factory in Khushkheda in Khairthal-Tijara district killed eight people, a joint team is investigating and has issued notices to 1,058 factories for violations found during inspections.A committee formed by Khairthal collector Artika Shukla is inspecting units in Bhiwadi and nearby industrial areas. Bhiwadi additional collector Sumitra Mishra said, “the committee submitted a report after inspections by teams formed by various departments from Feb 17 to 23, 2026, in which deficiencies were found.”Officials said 2,515 industrial units were inspected by RIICO First, RIICO Second, the Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board, the Factory and Boilers Department, the Labour Department and Nagar Parishad Bhiwadi’s Fire Department. Notices were issued to 1,058 units for violating department standards.Department-wise, RIICO First inspected 512 units and issued 106 notices; RIICO Second issued 217 notices out of 586 inspections; the Pollution Control Board issued 47 notices out of 563; the Factory and Boilers Department issued 194 notices out of 303; the Labour Department issued two notices after inspecting 85 units; and the Fire Department issued 392 notices out of 466 inspections.Mishra said inspections of remaining units are ongoing and notices are being issued “as per rules” for violations. The drive is part of a district campaign to enforce safety, pollution control and labour standards in industrial units.
