Kota: The body of a 24-year-old NEET aspirant, who went missing from his hostel in Kota last week, was recovered from a canal, over 50km away in Baran district Monday afternoon.The police, after the post-mortem, handed over the body to family members.The deceased youth was identified as Lokesh Dangi (24), a resident of Khilchipur, Rajgarh district in Madhya Pradesh, who was preparing for NEET in Kota for around 5-6 years and lived in a hostel under Borekhda police station in Kota.The deceased aspirant reportedly left his hostel room Wednesday last week and did not return, following which the hostel warden informed his parents. They reached Kota the next day and lodged a missing report, launching a hunt themselves.Wednesday last week, a mobile, pink T-shirt, pants, cap, and other belongings were spotted near a canal in Kaithun village, around 18km from Kota. The parents identified the items as belonging to their son, following which SDRF launched a search operation in the canal.Locals in Anta police station area spotted a body stuck in tree branches in the canal Monday afternoon and informed police, who established his identity as Lokesh Dangi after identification by his parents.The deceased youth’s parents stated in the report Tuesday that their son slipped into the canal while taking a bath and did not level any allegations, Nanta police said. Meanwhile, police lodged a case under section 194 of BNSS to ascertain the actual reason for death.
